Nomads Just Wanna Have Fun!
The Nomad Chapter caters to those of us with the wandering spirit. Whether it’s a van, an RV or your aunt’s 1974 station wagon, TMSA has you covered. Considering becoming a nomad? We offer group meetings tailored to the nomad experience and the variety of mental health challenges encountered with life on the road. Regardless of what – or where – you call home these days, our groups provide a safe place for you to share and discuss with fellow nomads your own experiences and your own challenges within the nomad environment. Our group sessions feel more like a gathering around a campfire with fellow travelers who get you! Each of our facilitators is also a nomad, meaning they can relate to the trials of nomad living while also appreciating the unique challenges presented to our mental health when on the road. We offer regular group meetups via Internet video, cell phones and/or landlines. That means wherever you are, a meeting, a friend, and a trusted listener is waiting for you. Join today!
Phone Meetings with Optional Video
Team Mood Support provides a safe and relaxed environment to discuss the risks, the rewards and the unfolding adventure that the nomad lifestyle presents. Always friendly and never judgmental, we shy away from therapy and lectures, choosing instead to focus on the personal experience of all group members. Daily Check-in Call
Get a free daily mood boost! Every morning, hear friendly voices discussing nomad topics and add your voice to the conversation – you might find help and, in doing so, you might help others! This is not a deep-sharing support group and it is certainly not therapy or a pity-party. Our check-in calls are run entirely by a team of peers – people who “get” you because they, too, are nomads, and share many of the same experiences and challenges nomads often encounter. No need to pre-register; just show up! Or, if you’re really serious, consider subscribing to the [LINK] meeting’s text messaging service below. You will always know when the next meeting is happening!
Online Social / Community Center
We proudly offer a private 24 x 7 Discord server—a friendly, private online social space and community center created by our nomad members to share with all of our peers. People who “get” you will have text discussions, post pictures, play games, teach and learn each other’s hobbies and wellness techniques. We interact without the pressure and exposure found on other social media platforms such as Facebook or Twitter. Got a good recipe for vegetarian meatloaf? Want to find out which of your fellow members have visited Alaska? Share it, post it, upload it to our Discord Server and let the fun begin! SIGN UP TO GET YOUR INVITATION BELOW!
Holiday Hangouts
Want some friendly company during the holidays? Both nomads and locals are welcome to join us by phone and/or video for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Open to all. Come and go when it works for you. See our Homepage for more info.
We Need YOU!
Your voice is important to us! Those of us who are experienced travelers of the road already know how healing the journey can be — and, sometimes, how lonely and frightening it can be. The nomad chapter provides a way for people with common interests and common goals to get together and hang out with others who share similar challenges. We love sharing! The nomad chapter provides a way for people who are travelling with anxiety, depression, bi-polar, etc., to provide social support to and for each other. Are you considering becoming a nomad? Any human regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religion, etc., is welcome. We don’t care what drugs you do or don’t take or whether you identify with any medical diagnostic labels. If you deal with mental challenges, we’ll accept you as one of us.
But … in order to make this work, we need YOU. We need you if you’re an old hand; we need you if you’re new; we need you if you’ve been doing great for years; we need you if you’re struggling. We need people who are going to give hope to others by their example. We need people who can give others a sense of purpose by needing their support. We need the newbies to remind the veterans of how far they’ve come and the veterans to show the newbies how they got so far. Start participating and help us help each other!
