The Nomad’s Digital Lifeboat
A 100% Free Fix

Don’t Scrap Your Rig.
Upgrade the Engine.

Your computer is like your favorite old van. It’s paid for, it fits your life, and it’s full of memories. But right now, the Windows “engine” is failing and guzzling your data. Best of all? This high-performance engine swap won’t cost you a dime.

Quick Version

The 30-Second Summary

🚨

The Problem

Windows 10 is now unsafe for banking and privacy. It’s an open door for viruses on public Wi-Fi.

🛠

The Fix

The “Safety Inspection” Failed

As of October 2025, Windows 10 is officially “off the road.” Microsoft stopped fixing safety issues, meaning the locks on your digital house—your phones and computers—have been removed.

Note: If your machine is new enough to support a factory upgrade to Windows 11, doing so will fix these security problems—for now. But for many of our older rigs, Windows 11 isn’t an option, and your road ends here.*

Running Windows 10 today is like driving a van with a gas leak. You might be fine today, but you’re a hazard to yourself and everyone parked around you.

The good news? You don’t need a new computer. You just need to swap the Windows engine for Debian 12—totally free.

The Performance Report

See how a “Debian Engine Swap” compares to your old, sluggish Windows system.

Fast Starts & Smooth Driving

Windows 10 is “heavy.” It runs hundreds of background tasks that eat your battery and make your computer hot. Debian 12 is lean and fast—built to give you maximum power with minimum effort.

0 to 60 Speed: Debian starts up faster and apps open almost instantly. It’s like taking the parking brake off your computer.
Save the Hardware: Don’t throw away a perfectly good machine. This tune-up makes a 10-year-old computer feel like it just left the showroom.

Driving is the Same

The engine might be new, but the steering wheel is exactly where you left it. Click below to see how your daily tasks work on Debian.

📌 Temporary “Duct Tape” Solution:

If you aren’t ready to swap the engine today, you can “duct tape” the safety problem temporarily by enrolling in the official support extension. Your PC must be running Windows 10 version 22H2.

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  2. Look for a message about support ending and click the Enroll now link.
  3. You will need a Microsoft account to complete the wizard.

This keeps the rig patched for a few more miles, but it doesn’t fix the underlying “heavy” engine problem.
